The Pattern
Loopy Dust Mop Sleeve
Author
M.K. Carroll
Introduction
I crocheted a basic reusable cloth to use with a certain trademarked floor sweeper meant to be used with name-brand disposable cloths. I improvised, but there are free crochet patterns for that (Tonya Hume's Swiffer Cover, Tiff Crochets Swiffer Cardi, and Gherkin's Bucket Crochet Biffer Shrug, for starters). I used the basic cloth, and it worked fine, but I found myself wanting a loopy, dust mop type of cloth to do things like clean the ceiling fan blades, so I crocheted this one - made flat in one piece, with pockets at the side to slip over the head of the sweeper.
Materials List
Yarn: about 80 - 100 yards/75 - 90 metres of worsted weight/10-ply/Medium/4 "kitchen cotton" such as Lily Sugar & Cream, Pisgah Peaches & Creme, Lion Brand Lion Cotton, Kitchen Cotton, Cotton-Ease, Nature's Choice Organic Cotton, or Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton, Dyed Cotton, Pakucho Organic Cotton, or any other worsted weight cotton or cotton-blend yarn of your choice. You could also use wool - it does attract dust nicely!
Crochet hook: I/9/5.5mm or size to get gauge
Knitting needle: US13/9mm/UK00 [OPTIONAL] - to make loops over (can use finger, pen, dowel, etc.) For the SMALLER size, one knitting needle is enough. For the LARGER size, two knitting needles make bigger loops.
Finished Size
SMALLER (older models) 3"/7.5cm wide, 9.5"/19cm long, LARGER (newer models) 4.5"/11.5cm wide, 10"/25.5cm long. Will fit on a Swiffer (tm) sweeper - but the sizes can vary, so check the measurements of the sweeper you are using and adjust pattern as needed to fit.
Gauge
Gauge/Tension: in sc, 16 sts/16 rows = 4"/10cm. In loop stitch, 16 sts/10 rows = 4"/10cm
Notes
I used Chloe Nightingale's Loop Stitch Tutorial (right here on Crochet me!) Working it over an object feels a little awkward at first; I like it because the loops turn out nice and even.
The hook size will seem large for the yarn, but the loop stitch can get very tight, making it harder to crochet and resulting in a firmer fabric than necessary.
The Pattern
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet [AUS/NZ/UK: replace with dc = double crochet]
st = stitch
lp st = loop stitch
Instructions for sizes given as SMALLER(LARGER)
To make evenly sized loops, I worked the loops over a double-pointed knitting needle. I work the entire row and then slide the knitting needle out of the loops.
Begin with first flap:
ch 13 (20)
1) sc 12 (19)
2) ch 1, sc 12 (19)
repeat row 2 until piece measures 2"/5cm long (7 rows)
[for LARGER size, you may want to make the flaps a little longer]
turning row:
sc 12 (19) in front loops only
looped surface:
1) lp st 12 (19)
2) sc 12 (19)
repeat rows 1 and 2 until loop st section measures 9.5"/19cm(10"/25.5cm) long.
turning row:
sc 12 (19) in front loops only
second flap:
1) ch 1, sc 12 (19)
repeat until second flap measures 2"/5cm long. Fasten off.
[for LARGER size, you may want to make the flaps a little longer]
Assemble: Fold flaps to back (smooth side) and sew the sides down, leaving top of flap open. Weave in all ends. I don't think this needs blocking, but if that would make you happy, wash with mild soap and wet-block to size.
This pattern may be used by individuals to make and sell finished items (for example, at craft fairs, on Etsy, as charity fundraiser items). Please give credit where credit is due.
The Swedish Snail
Author
Stina Svensson
Introduction
This is a snail that is very easy to make. You crochet two different cylinders and then sew them together. I put a little bell inside the body and gave it to my niece who likes everything that makes a sound (she's three months). Since I gave it to a baby I made eyes that won't be too easy to tear off.
Materials List
Any yarn will do, it depends on what size you want the snail to be... I used 100% cotton, the size is called 8/4, 100 grams give 340 meters.
Choose the colors that you like, I used pink (color A) and red (color B). Most of the skeins are still left so you don't need much.
Beside the two colors for body and shell you also need black (color C) and white (color D) for the eyes.
Stuffing of some kind
Needle for weaving in ends
Hook: Depends on the yarn, I used 2,5
Finished Size
Depends on the yarn being used
Gauge
I am sorry but I have no idea, and again, it depends on the yarn...
Notes
Work in a continuous spiral, do not join rounds!
When decreasing stitches I use invisible decrease. The hook is inserted in the front loop of two stitches and yarn pulled through both front loops at the same time and then you have two loops on the hook and then yarn over and pull through both loops.
I always do things the easiest way which means i usually don't bother to weave in ends, I just trap them inside the different parts as I crochet. Of course is the last piece an exception.
The Pattern
The Body
Ch 2 with color A
sc 6 in second stitch, make sure the end of the yarn is joined so you can pull it and make the hole "disappear".
2 sc into every sc (12)
(1 sc into next sc, 2sc into next sc) 6 times (18)
Continue sc. Do not join rounds, work in a spiral. Fill body with stuffing of your choice as you crochet. Put a bell in the body if you like. Or two. Or three... When body is approximately 15 centimeters/6 inches:
(1 sc in next st, sc next 2 sts together using invisible decrease in front loops) 6 times (12)
sc next 2 sts together using invisible decrease in front loops) 6 times (6)
Cut off yarn. With needle, pull yarn trough the front loops, pull. Weave in end.
The Shell
Ch 2 with color B
sc 6 in second stitch, make sure the end of the yarn is joined so you can pull it and make the hole "disappear".
2 sc into every sc (12)
(1 sc into next 3 sc, 2sc into next sc) 3 times (15)
Continue sc. Do not join rounds, work in a spiral. Fill shell with stuffing as you crochet but don't stuff it too much! It should be a little flat in order to roll it. When shell is approximately 45 centimeters/18 inches:
(1 sc in next 3 st, sc next 2 sts together using invisible decrease in front loops) 6 times (12)
2 sc into next 6 sc
turn and repeat once.
Cut off yarn. Leave end for assembling with the body.
The Eyes
Don't forget to make two!
Ch 2 with color C
sc 6 in second stitch, make sure the end of the yarn is joined so you can pull it and make the hole "disappear".
Change color to D
2 sc into every sc (12) make two-three rounds, then 2 invisible decreases per round until there are about four st left.
Cut off yarn, leave enough to sew the eye to the body.
Assembling
Start with one side of the shell and sew it with the same color as shell to the next layer as you roll it together. This is probably the most complicated part of this pattern! It took me a while, but it gets steadier this way, I promise! When it's sewed into a roll and looks like a "bun", you may want to take the needle right through all the different layers a couple of times just to make sure it will hold. Then, saw it onto the body. Weave in end.
Decide where you want the eyes and saw them on. Make sure they are securely fastened if you're giving the snail to a baby.
Mini's Puff Flower Spa Cloth

Introduction
I needed some new facecloths and sat down to search for a pattern. All I came across were 'sampler stitch' type patterns and although functional, they didn't quite float my boat. So I set out to create my own. What I came up with is a simple pattern that can be worked up in an afternoon.
Materials List
Worsted Weight Cotton:
Color A: small amount
Color B: small amount
Color C: 1 ball Sugar ’n Cream, 2.5 oz.
Crochet Hook size H / 5.0mm

Finished Size
11 1/4" x 11 1/4"
Gauge
Not critical.

Three Strands Crochet Headband
Author
Introduction
Easy three strands crocheted headband.
The pattern is almost the same as the necklace I've made some time ago, and that's published on Crochet Me as well.
The only difference is that the strands here have the same length, and that the sc part is longer, so that you can knot them behind to close the headband.
Enjoy!
Materials List
4.00mm hook
Any Colour Cotton yarn (worsted weight)
Finished Size
Adult Woman Head, you can make it longer or shorter by changing the number of starting ch.
Gauge
no gauge
Notes
The Pattern

Introduction
Hi,
Most publishers reject designs, made from rare or discontinued yarn. But i made it. Actually, I get really great yarns from Ebay, which are sold at a VERY low price. I prefer to buy cones - more yarn, which is enough for a large project and I can get such yarns as cashmere, angora, silk, bamboo, alpaca. And I am not talking about blends like Bernat has (Cashmere yarn in which only 5% actually are cashmere!), but blends which have at least 50% of wool, angora and so and sometimes you even can get 100% ones! Cotton ones you can get like 5-7 at least 2 lb cones for as low as $25 - and the colors are super bright! If you are making the projects for sale or for present or just for yourself (as long as they are not for publishers) they are SUPER DEALS FOR YOU!
Materials List
* Linen machine knitting yarn size#30/3 of coral color, which is similar to mercerized cotton yarn #30
* Size 1.5 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Finished Size
Girl size 6
Gauge
Dur to the uniqueness of the yarn I think the gauge is irrelevant for this project
Notes
Front and back are identical
