Chunky Bangles
Author
Natalie Brock
Introduction
I like these bangles, they're comfy and they don't make a loud racket when you move your arms!
Make them in a rainbow of colours to suit your outfit or simply give them as gifts.
This pattern first appeared on my blog http://hookylove.blogspot.com/
Materials List
I used Rowan Cotton Rope (Aran weight) but any aran weight would do, and a 4.5mm hook.
Finished Size
variable, that's the best thing!
Gauge
Gauge is not important, just make sure the starting chain can fit around your wrist!
I used a smaller hook than stated on the yarn, just to make the gauge is tight so the bangle has more structure.
Notes
I write in UK terms!
Abbreviations:
ch: chain
dc: double crochet
sl st: slip stitch
blo: back loop only
ws: wrong side
sts: stitches
The Pattern
Ch 35, sl st into 1st chain to join (careful not to twist the chain!)
Row 1: Ch 1,dc in one leg of each foundation ch around. Sl st into 1st dc to join
Row 2: Work all sts in blo. Ch 1, dc in each dc around. Sl st to 1st dc to join
Rows 3 & 4: Repeat row 2
To finish, fold in half with ws facing to form bangle shape. Sl st around, joining blo of Row 4 to one leg of foundation ch. end off.
For the black and red bangle I alternated the colours each row, for the red and yellow I changed colour for rows 2&3 then back to the original colour for row 4
Happy bangling!
Ear Warmer
Author
Deborah Lucio
Introduction
I have created a pattern for an ear warmer. I needed something to keep my ears warm while I did not have ear muffs. It really does keep my ears warm too. I hope you try it out and like it as much as I do.
Materials List
Any yarn will do.
1 Skien of your choice in color.
Any size hook I used a G, just as long as it fits you when your finished.
Yarn needle.
Scissors.
Finished Size
Depends on the hook, your head size, and the way you crochet as we all crochet differently.
Gauge
Not important in this pattern, just as long as it fits you in the end
Notes
ch, sc, dc, sl st, sts.
The Pattern
Ch. 10 ( or chain as many that will cover your ears ).
Rnd 1: Sc in all sts of the ch you have made. ( 10 sts or however many sts you have created )ch 1, turn.
Rnd 2: Sc in all sts. At the end ch 3, turn. ( 10 sts or however many sts you have created).
Rnd 3: Dc in all sts. At the end ch 1, turn. ( 10 sts or however many sts you have created).
Keep doing this pattern til you are completely done and you know it will fit your head. When you are done with the pattern, use a sl st to seam one end to the other, cut a tail long enough to weave ends in and then use a yarn needle to weave in ends and you are done. Pattern should go as follows: 2 rows sc, 1 row of dc until you are done. Hope you enjoy! I know I do.

Midsummer Twilight Hat
Author
Jess_B
Introduction
Made with 100% cotton yarn in four muted colors, the Midsummer Twilight Hat is perfect for cooler summer evenings or crisp autumn afternoons.
Materials List
Hook: Size H/8, 5.00mm
Yarn: Small amounts of Sugar 'n' Cream worsted weight cotton in blue, brown, and purple, and Bernat cotton in green.
Finished Size
Approximately 8" from center of crown to edge of scallop.
Approximately 22" brim circumference .
Gauge
Five rounds of dc = approximately 2", 5cm.
Notes
Stitches: chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), no-turn-chain double crochet (ntcdc), double crochet (dc), treble crochet (tc)
For an explaination of the ntcdc, visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LxYpo-tyi8
The NTCDC counts as the first stitch of each row. If that stitch isn't working out for you, replace with "ch 3" throughout the pattern.
I carried the thread on the inside of the hat for the first eight rows to make color changing easier. Once the shell pattern begins, it's easier to tie off each time a new color begins a round. The pattern is written to tie in the new color along the same vertical seam.
The Pattern
Round 1: [Blue] Ch 1. Ntcdc in ch. 9 dc in chain, slst to top of ntcdc. [10 sts]
Round 2: [Blue] Ntcdc. Dc in same st as Ntcdc. 2 dc in each st around. [20 sts]
Round 3: [Brown] Ntcdc. 2 dc in next st. *Dc in next st, 2 dc in next st.* Repeat from * to * 8 more times. Slst to top of ntcdc. [30 sts]
Round 4: [Blue] Ntcdc. Dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. *Dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from * to * 8 more times. Slst to top of ntcdc. [40 sts]
Round 5: [Purple] Ntcdc. Dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. *Dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st.* Repeat from * to * 8 more times. Slst to top of ntcdc. [50 sts]
SUNNY DISHCLOTH OR POT HOLDER
Author
Ruth del Valle
Introduction
I wish I could go to the northern hemisphere!, Hate winter time, cold and dark, we do not have snow, but days are almost always clouded, and rainy. I began to work with nice summer colors, and I thought I could crochet a sun…..
Materials List
Crochet: N° 00 steel hook, or E (3,5 mm) hook
Scrap thread (cotton) white, yellow and orange
Finished Size

Mine was 3 rows 1" (2.5 cm), 5 sc 1" (2.5 cm)
Notes
For a dishcloth use 1 strand worsted cotton, do not block. (that was mine)
For a pot holder , you can use 2 strands together for a thighter stitches, do starch ( I use 1 part water, 2 parts sugar, heat until the sugar is dissolved, no more, or it will turn brown!), and block it. Believe me, it will be very stiff.

Row 2 ; 5 sc in ring

Row 4: ch1 sc in same ch1, 2 sc in the next 9 sc (20 sc)
