What to do with short left over yarns?
I use these yarns which are usually cut offs from the working ends or tail ends of my finished crochet projects, to mark stitches on my current projects

I use them to tie "bows" into scarves that are on the scrapppy looking side. Works like a charm!
Also, I make fasteners for purses by rolling the yarn into a golfball-sized ball, make a hole in the middle of the "ball," and then tie it on all 4 "sides, snipping the threads very close to the "ball." Next, I sew on an oblong wooden button to the bag, sew the "ball," which is now a makeshift "clasp," to the flap. The button fits beautifully through the "clasp," and looks lovely and very stylish on the bag. If you should decide to felt your bag, a little more sewing is involved because there are no holes in your work, but it is still very lovely.
