Make your hook more comfortable
I used to buy those elongated vinyl tubes to slip over the shaft of my crochet hooks to make them more ergonomic, but those little devils are expensive. Then I remembered the little soft “grips” my kids used to use to hold their pencils. More info and photo here:

good tip! I used to use the triangular ones. I might have to go and get a few.
What kind of needle is that you are using?

It's a Phildar hook, but I don't think they're made anymore. Addi Turbo hooks are quite similar. (The handle is a good size to hold the pencil grip. If I'm using a hook with a narrower handle, I wrap the grip with medical tape to make it wide enough for the pencil grip to stay in place.)

i usually wind a hair elastic around the handle
