I just got new glasses and was given a hard case. Since I have to wear my glasses 24/7, the cases are just thrown into a drawer until now!
The case I got is just the right size for a pair of folding scissors, small tape measure, hook and yarn needle.
I can drop this in my purse or "work bag" and now that these items are protected and I am never without them.

I personally use a metal pencil case from the local stationers'...It was the cheapest one they had, and it's perfect for holding all my hooks, my gauge ruler, my scissors, embroidery needles, tapestry needles, stitch markers, pins, and some other bits like safety eyes and embroidery thread :) Possibly a little bigger than yours, so I use it as part of my "crochet" bag...If I just want a quick project kit, a glasses case would be the right way to go!
What a neat idea! Thanks.
Now I have to go digging to find one of those old, unused glasses cases.
Great idea!
I've been using an extra cosmetics case I recieved as a gift-with-purchase some years ago.
Just goes to show that crocheters are resourceful folk(as opposed to loonies as someone-who-shall-not-be-named, aka dear husband, once sugested.) MIGNONETTE

Hey, Great idea---recyclying. I gave mine to the Lions Club who collects glasses and cases for the blind. I did make a copy and will bring it to a crochet group that I started in Jan./08. We are seniors called--The Happy Hookers.
mignonette -- Whoops!! Forgot to say -- is ditto the right expression-- about aka dear husband--yes they are always saying to get rid of things. Then when he needs something I have--he says, "I was thinking of a way to use it up)........
That's a fantastic idea! I found and old small, hard pencil case that I use for the exact same purpose! I carry a hook and yarn with me EVERYWHERE. I crochet standing in line at the grocery, even. :)
