How to make boots out of house slippers using simple crochet stitches

Crocheted boot

To make these, I punched holes around the top of the slipper. Then I single crocheted into the punched holes, and did half double crochet stitches around until the boot was the height my husband wanted.

Wow! Smart and practical. I love it!

If I were to add to the length of a sock, I believe I'd use a very small hook and then use a ribbed stitch so they would stay up on the leg.
