Handy tape measure
If you're like me, you've lost countless crafting time searching for your tape measure. I finally solved my problem. Before I start a new project, I always run a copy of the pattern as a takealong, so my magazines stay in good condition. I started copying a black & white tape measure along the long side of the page, in the margin, inches on one side, metric on the other (if the pattern calls for it). Then I put the page in a plastic protector. Pattern plus measuring tape, all in one.

Brilliant! And I just keep buying new ones. If they were all in one place... that I knew of... I think I have 10;-)
Great idea, thanks.

I was looking for a handy way to keep my crochet hooks tidy. I came across a thin pencil case at a car boot sale. It now stores my hooks, a tape measure, a pair of folding scissors, a darning needle and some stitch markers. It always goes in the bag with whatever project I'm working on, so I always have everything I need to hand.
I use a small wooden box that my Dad made to keep all my supplies handy and in order. I got tired of chasing the ball of crochet cotton across the floor so mounted an inexpensive toilet roll holder to the top outside of the box which also serves as a carrying handle when the box is securely latched. I made and glued a large rectangular pincushion to the inside of the lid to take care of my pins and needles. The box measures 10 x 5 x 5 inches including the lid so there is plenty of room inside for scissors, crochet hooks and notions. The box travels well and accompanies me literally everywhere!
