conditioning yarn

conditioning yarn

I experimented a little too much with a couple of skeins of wool that I was dying and the yarn came out kind of dry and rough. I tried rinsing with my favorite hair conditioner and it worked wonders! The yarn was much softer and mmm coconutty!

:D I approve of coconutty. I've got some old skeins that I've been holding onto for a while that are rough that I plan on trying this out on.

A lot of conditioners say they're safe for color treated hair, so I'm guessing that would apply to dyed yarn?

Great ideas! Will this apply to acrylic yarn as well? Acrylic yarns do have this funky smell that I wish I can get rid off.
