My husband has been asking me to make him a bee for awhile now! Having finally almost finished Babette Blanket (and being out of the wool I need to complete its edging), I thought I’d go for the bee at long last!

2.5mm hook
a small amount of yellow wool
a small amount of gray wool
stitch marker

(I used King Cole Merino Blend DK in amber and dark gray)

My finished Bee is just under 2 inches long.

Gauge is unimportant for this project.

It’s a very quick and easy pattern worked in rounds, make sure you mark your final st or the round so you know where ‘the beginning’ is.

BODY:
Ch 2
Row 1: 6 sc in 1st ch, (mark 6th st)
Row 2: 2 sc in next 6 st (12sc, mark 12th st)
Row 3: *1 sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next stitch. Repeat from * until you complete the round (18sc, mark 18th st)
Rows 4-5: Change color to black and sc around all 18 st (18 sc, mark 18th st)
Row 6-7: Change to yellow and sc around as in rows 4-5.
Row 8-9: Change to black and sc around as in rows 4-5.
Row 10: Change to yellow and sc around (18sc).
Row 11: *1 sc in 1st stitch, 1 dec. Repeat from * for entire round (12 sc, mark 12th st)
Row 12: dec next 12 st (6 sc).

Then finish off and leave a little bit of yarn to weave around the opening of your bee.

Stuff the little dude with whatever fuzzy/fluffy stuff you have to hand (I save the little ends from other projects and use those)

Weave the yarn through the last 6 st and pull tightly to close. Weave in all ends.

WINGS (make 2):

ch 4
Round 1: beginning in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 st, ch 1, turn
Round 2: 1 sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in 3rd st, then 2sc in opposite side of the st you just worked 2 sc into. (you’re working in a little ‘U’ shape), 2 sc, finish off.

Then sew all the bits toghether! His eyes are just made from wool-knots in this picture, but use anything you like!

I want to decorate my kitchen with strawberries. That´s why I needed a berry-like grocery bag. Here it is, one of my very first patterns

Yarn: Schachenmayr, nomotta, “Catania“, Llg. 125 Meter/ 50 Gramm

hook: size 3,5 (european size)

as you wish, netting will stretch

no gauge needed, make bag as big as you want (keep in mind it will stretch a lot)

Begin every round with 3 ch instead of first dc and end with sl in 3nd ch of round

Make the “tunnel” for the draw string:
3 ch (for 1st dc), *1 dc in 2nd dc of round 10 of bottom (the 2 rounds of the “leaves“ are not continued any further!), 1 ch*, Repeat from * to *
round 2: 3 ch (for 1st dc), 5 ch, 1 sc around next ch of round below, *5 ch, 1 sc into second dc of round below, 5 ch, 1 sc second dc of round below*, repeat from * to *.
Repeat Row 2 until bag is the desired size: Around each ch-loop work one sc followed by 5 ch, 5 ch, 1 sc, and so on.

The bag will be very stretchy, so you only need to make a bag with 2/3 of desired size.

If you want to get a bigger bag, work 7 ch instead of the 5 ch loops.

Edge:
round 1(green) : 3 ch (for 1st dc), *2 dc around ch-loop, 1 dc into sc of round before*, repeat from *to*, finish round with sl into 3rd ch of beginning.

Leaves on top (green) (these are optional, if you don´t want leaves on top, continue with round 2 of edge:)
round 1 leaves: 8 ch, 1 sl in 4th sc of round below, repeat

Handles (red):

Make a draw string: Make a ch ribbon 80 centimeter long and work sl over the complete length. Pull thread through the “tunnel” of round 1 bag. Attach a Drawstring Slide, available at a Notions Counter or Fabric Store

The nice thing about making your own belts is that you get to choose the color, texture, and materials used. This particular design I came up with for my mother. She picked the color and the beads on the end were her idea. We found the buckle at a local fabric store after reading in a magazine an article on making belts.

I thought that this year in honor of all Mothers, I would share my pattern so that perhaps you might make one for yours.

Fold Belt in half, length-wise, ch 1, using sc join edges all around belt, sc into folded edge also for a more finished look. When you have sc all around the now doubled belt, fasten off. Weave in any loose ends. Sew buckle on one end of belt and pony beads on opposite end.

I've been crocheting a lot of animals lately and technically since they are all crocheted in the round they are called Amigurumi. So here goes my Owl Amigurumi pattern. Now this pattern is for the basic body. You can add whatever you will to make this owl YOURS. I added easy hot glued google eyes, little crochet wings, crocheted talons and because I had it at the time a maple leaf nose. (I now add a felt nose)

You'll need some scraps of Each color you will be using as well as an F or G crochet hook.
(In the picture I used Sage Red Heart 4ply acrylic Yarn. )

If you will be crocheting the wings, talons, and eyes you will need more.
