Recycled plastic carton plant pot
Author
Helda Panagary
Introduction
I'm trying my best to do my bit for the environment. I recycle paper, card. plastic bags and clothes. I use alot of milk and have so many cartons in the recyling bag every week.I came up with the plant pot in a bid to do something about my waste.
I decided to use alternative yarn which was parceling string. The beauty of this pattern is you can use anything as yarn the only thing that limits you is your creativity .In my house nothing is safe.
Make them to match the decor of every room you have, I promise once you start making them you'll wonder how you lived with out them.
It is a very quick and easy pattern that satisfies those urges to make something now.
Materials List
Crochet hook 4.5mm
parceling string 40-50g
plastic milk bottle
a pair pf scissors
Finished Size
n/a
Gauge
I have not bothered with tension ,I did a few rows with different sized hooks and then decided whether i wanted the stitch to be lacey or very compact.
Notes
:All crochet terms are uk terms
:Do not crochet the bottom of the carton as it will be unstable you need it to be flat.
:You have to cut the funnel part of the carton off, you decide the length.
The Pattern
Making this pattern could not be simpler, you decide the stitch you want ,you also choose your hook size.Its cusom made which enables you to not only use those scraps of yarn you have lying around. but also to use any type of 'yarn'
You can use this in everyroom in the house.I have one in the kitchen to hold cutlery, in the bathroom it holds toothbrushes,my children have one to hold pens.The list is endless.

Introduction
This is a fun pattern and a fun costume to wear at a party and now that October is nearly hear I thought I'd post the pattern.
I was searching Etsy one day and came across a custom crochet job in the Alchemy boards. This particular person wanted a hat made like the one pictured in DoodyBrain's Blog. I had never seen this hat before and I took on the challenge.
This is not my original idea although the pattern is mine. I got the idea for this hat from Scandinavian Grace http://scandinaviangrace.com.
I also submitted it to Instructables not too long after I made it and won 2nd place in the Lion Brand October Contest. I won a really cool book of Vintage patterns. :)

Plus-Size Armwarmers
Author
Momwithahook Crochets
Introduction
This is a pattern for Plus Size Arm Warmers. There are a lot of arm warmer - wrist warmer patterns out there and most are made for thin long arms. My chubby arms and wrists are large and get larger as they go up toward the elbow. I came up with this pattern for myself but thought others might want to have a simple arm warmer pattern that they can tweak to fit their unique arms. :)
Materials List
Size H/8 5.000mm Hook
2 skeins Patons SWS (soy wool solids) I used Natural Raisin and Natural Moss
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochet
dc= double crochet
ch= chain
st = stitch
Finished Size
Size L - XL (customizable to your arms)
Gauge
Gauge is not known. For thicker yarn weight like one used above, you will need less stitches. (use your arm width and length of armwarmers you wish as a guide)
Notes
This was a thicker yarn, if you use a thinner weight yarn you will have to increase the # of stitches for length and width.
The Pattern
Natural Raisin:
Start out with a chain of 26. Then sc in second ch from hook. Single Crochet in each st across. (25stitches)
chain1 turn (each row)
Single crochet in each stitch across for 13 rows
Slip Stitch in the first 8stitches, then single crochet in the remaining 17 stitches. (This is the hole for the thumb) chain 1 and turn
Single crochet in next 17stitches, chain 7, then sc in last stitch. Chain 1 turn
Sc in each stitch across. (25stitches) ch 1, turn
Repeat this 13 more rows.
You'll have a total of 26 rows.
Finish off
Fold the 'square' in half matching up the 'thumb holes'.
You will now need to thread your tapestry with the yarn you will be using to sew up the armwarmers. (I used natural raisin)
