Hi! My name is Candy. I'm 28, mom of two, and just began learning crochet recently while I hibernate through the hottest couple hours of the day, here near Hotlanta. The first thing I made was a beanie.. I followed an instructional video at Expert Village, and was able to successfully add extra rows to make the back of my hat longer and put earflaps on the sides. I also have a teddy bear in progress (ran out of yarn for the last leg, grrr; and made a doggy finger puppet. Now, I'm making some mittens, to match my earflap beanie. They have a buttoned flap to the top so I can let my fingers out without yankin my gloves off. I'm really enjoying crochet - but can't find exactly the patterns I'm very interested in making. I want to make some good hand puppets. I thought, by learning to make mittens, I could alter them myself to have "two thumb holes" on opposite sides for the arms and my other fingers would go into the puppets head. But, anyway.. I'd much rather try it first from an existing pattern. I don't want the head to be separate from the mitt part of the puppet.. Anybody know where I can find some cute free (or cheap) hand puppet patterns?
