Whew! Two posts for my first time posting here! Yay!
Okay, so last year I decided I wanted to learn lace patterns and thread crochet. So I started looking up patterns, and did a few practice runs, then decided I wanted to make something BIG!! (I can never jump into a new craft halfway, I don't think. That's a sign of addiction, I'm pretty sure. ) I came up with an idea to make a cute little lacey overskirt to wear with some petticoats I wanted to make this year too.
So I found a couple of patterns online, modified one or two bits, got a little creative with the edgings, and came up with this. Let me know what you think!
The finished skirt, with new ribbon!

The first of two panel shapes that I used to make up the skirt:

The other panel shape:

This is how the panels were layed out to form the body of the skirt. the ruffling and edging have not been done yet, so it looks very angular:

A closeup of how the pieces layed out together. Shows one of the "corners":

This is a view of the single crochet stitching I did to join the pieces together:

And a picture of the ruffling I folded into the length of the skirt. THis was done before the waistband was added:

This is a closeup to show how small the folds for the ruffling were. It was hard to get them right so tiny!:

This is the back view of the skirt. I was really proud of getting the ruffles to lay right so I didn't end up with a ruffly bum!:

And a picture from the side. See! No ruffle-bum!:

And finally, a picture to show the flare of the skirt. So cute!! I was proud of how well it turned out!:

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed it!
