Hello,
I hope this message finds everyone happily crocheting away!
I am dreadfully confused about copyright and I hope someone out there can help me. I do not understand when a free or purchased pattern falls under copyright. For example, I have several family/friends/strangers asking me to make things that they have seen me wear or something that they have seen in a magazine. I love doing it, but I would also like to be paid for my supplies/labor/time. Here is where I get confused: If I make an item from the various patterns I have (books, free/paid patterns, or patterns that others give me) can I then sell that item if I give credit to the designer? Or is this completely a no-no? I really do not understand how this works.
ANY assistance someone out there can give me would be greatly appreciated.
And BTW, I am having a very hard time setting the timezone for my messages. So you may see December 1969 for some reason. Any help with that would also be welcomed.
Happy Looping!
