Hi! I just got Christen Haden's book "Creepy Cute Crochet", its been fairly challenging but is also helping me learn alot. There is one instruction though that I don't understand. I am making the cthulhu head and first you make a round head with three gaps then after you fasten off, you go back and it says
"for each gap formed by the [ch 2, skip 1] above: row 1: join in gap, ch 1, sc 5, sl st to close round {5}. ch 1, sc 5, sl st to close round." whats throwing me off here is the "join in gap" I have never heard of this before and there is no explanation. Does anyone with more experience understand how i do that?

here is a picture if it helps
