Hi everyone! Thought I'd come in and say hello and introduce myself a bit. I'm glad to have found a cool place like this!

I just moved to the US from Finland, so I'm not only new to this website but also this part of the world. I began crocheting only about 6 months ago, when I bought some hooks and yarn for myself as a birthday present (I had promised to teach some boys and girls crocheting in a class I teach, and then realized that I might have to learn it myself first--ouch!) Needless to say I was instantly hooked!

Man, that previous sentence is overflowing with pun-worthy material. Apologies.

I've been ecstatic to find all kinds of cool books on crocheting in the stores here, among them Crochet Me. How could I have resisted creating an account when the book implored me so... :)

I'm a huge nerd who is into books, languages, sci-fi, the occasional computer/console game, and movies. The journal I link to in my profile is actually my book journal--I swear, once I get a crochet journal set up when my projects get to be a bit more exciting, I will be sure to post about it.

So... Nice to meet you all! I hope I can contribute to the community soon with tips and patterns of my own. Your tips have already been a tremendous help to me, and I want to pay the community back at some point.
