I've recently registered on here and thought I should start by saying hello.
I taught myself to crochet when I was in my teens and after a very, very large gap have recently taken it up again.
Some of my friends were knitting felted bags, I felt left out, can't knit, so found a crochet pattern instead.
It was so easy to pick back up that I thought it would be fun to use up some of the yarn mountain from when I had a knitting machine, but I had a heck of a job finding a pattern for something that I'd actually wear.
After a search and a half, I now have Crochet me and the Happy Hoooker, both of which are full of decent patterns. Just have to try and match them up to my existing yarn as I'm determined not to buy any more until I've made a dent in the old stuff.
I've picked a pattern in the Happy Hooker to start - Frou frou - which I'm making with two cones of four ply, worked together to get the correct tension. So far it's coming on a treat, I'm loving the stitch it's worked in.
If I can find a suitable yarn, I'm going to make the lovely cardi on the front of Crochet me next.
Ok, enough from me. I'm looking forward to exploring the boards and getting to know you all.
