Comfort Yarn

Has anyone tried this yarn?

The new Annie's Attic catalog offers worsted weight Comfort Yarn, a "16-ply fiber-dyed yarn [that] has a superior touch that looks and feels like wool, but is made with 50% super-fine nylon and 50% super-fine acrylic. Machine washable and dryable." Doesn't that sound too good to be true?

So I googled and found the CYT (Comfort Yarn Trading) Company Limited of Hong Kong which seems very proud of their innovative, multi-ply yarns. Berroco also offers a Comfort line with their name on it, but it seems to be the same or very similar except from Turkey. Since CYT is a level or two above retail, it could be the same material but spun in Turkey, not China - a guess. The yarn has many plies, like the Chinese yarn The Berroco yarn at Yarn Mart is a little less than Annie's, $5.35 for 100 gm/210 yds.

I love the feel of nice wool yarn, but I love both machine washing/drying yarn garments and not having to worry about m*ths. I think I want this yarn.
