Just Saying Hello!

Just saying hi really: "Hello!".

Was taught doily, filet & afghan style crochet as a child. Only ever really made blankets, tablecloths etc. I am now 31 yrs old btw.

Recently joined a local knit & crochet group (we meet in a pub weekly to socialise & work on our various projects). It's great fun...After years of crocheting with the radio, I'm learning how to crochet & talk & listen (still a bit hard to concentrate & chat at the same time!). I've graduated to hats & ponchos, & I'm even fantasizing about a snuggly cardigan, so I've definately progressed. I'm a left handed crocheter, & I must admit I am wimpishly scared about shaping for some reason, which is why I haven't actually started any garments as of yet.

My other passion is jewellery making & I'm experimenting at the moment with bead crochet. I'm also making up sets of cotton snowflakes for Christmas decorations. I've heard of several 'stiffening' methods (sugar water, Mod Podge, hairspray, spray starch) but would be interested to hear which you would recommend... I don't want the application to obscure my pattern, but I would like the motifs to be firm enough to hang & not curl. All ideas welcome!

Oh well, thats me & my neuroses introduced to you. It would be great to get to know some of you & I look forward to my future Crochet Me travels.
