Crocheters rely on Crochet Me to provide wicked awesome patterns to spark their imagination and to keep their hands busy. If you'd like to contribute an original pattern of your own*, click on "Post a pattern" in your "My Crochet Me" menu on the far right. You'll be taken to a new screen.

Tip: You might want to type up your pattern in a word processor outside of this site, and then copy/paste it into Crochet Me.

When you post a pattern, think of yourself as both the designer and the editor. We want your beginner scarf patterns as much as we want your advanced spacesuit patterns, but no matter how simple or complex your pattern is, it is important to take the time to write it up clearly. Remember that your audience is a wide range of crocheters from all over the world.

Please fill out the text fields and make selections from the lists on the pattern submission page as per the directions listed there. A few special notes are:

  1. Body: This text area is for the main part of the pattern. By the time you reach this field, you will already have entered the materials, gauge, etc., so don't repeat any of that information in the body.
  2. Copyright: When you post a pattern or tip, you retain the rights to your work. In the interest of encouraging the sharing of information and inspiration, we encourage you to consider licensing your work under a Creative Commons [1] license. You also have the option to retain all rights. Choose the license you'd like; this information will appear at the end of your tip.
  3. Subscribe: Click the "Subscribe" box if you'd like to be notified when people comment on your tip. You can manage your subscriptions from your profile page.
  4. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required. All others are optional.

When you're finished, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page. Or, you may click "Preview" to see what your pattern will look like, and then click "Submit" after viewing the preview. You can also make changes to the preview... but definitely don't forget to submit it when you're finished!

To edit your pattern after you've submitted it, click the "Edit" link at the top of the page.

* We really mean it when we say the patterns you post need to be your own original works. We do not tolerate infringement and will delete patterns that violate the copyrights of others.
