Oh, Time! Where do you get off passing so quickly?! Woe, what I wouldn't do for twelve more hours in the day...
*Swoosh!* That's the sound of Crochet me swooping in to save the day! This issue is replete with quickie projects that will soothe your crochet addiction, fill you with the satisfaction of accomplishment, and still leave you time to go for a jog and empty the dishwasher (and read the kids a story and be on time for your early morning meeting). We put out a call for one-sitting projects and loads of talented designers came to the rescue. Even the more-than-one sitting projects in this issue are elegant in their simplicity.
From baby [1] to kitty [2] to grown-up [3], there are projects to make the whole family happy. We even have accessories [4] for your books [5]* and your coffee [6] (those lovely companions that come through for us every time we're in a pinch). We even have a necklace [7] fit for a fashionista and some traditional home décor with a modern twist [8]. And Annette's column [9] teaches us about the all-important waist shaping of sweaters and tops.
Did we mention that this issue is more than twice the size of the last? I need a nap just thinking about it. On February 28th Crochet me will celebrate it's first birthday. It's hard for me to grasp that only a year has passed since I sat in my office and stuck up a lone page on the internet in hopes that some cool crocheters would stumble upon it. Little did I know then that the next year would be filled with new acquaintances from all over the world. Turns out I definitely wasn't the only one desperate for some new, innovative crochet. Boy, howdy.
In only 11 months, this site has grown at a rate that continually surprises and delights me. I've pulled more than one all-nighter keeping it going, and I've had a blast doing it. We have big plans for the next year in this new era of hip, stylish crochet, too. Our April issue will be dedicated to the ever-neglected Expectant Family, and there will be home décor in our future as well.
We have grown this large because of you, keen readers, and we thank you for it. The internet is a beast driven by word-of-mouth, and we love you for passing us along to your friends and family. Check out our Support [10] page to see how you can continue to help spread the word. And be in touch to let us know what you'd like to see in these pages in the future.
For now, I've taken up enough of your time. Go put the kettle on and crochet something nice for yourself. And as you're warming up and beginning to relax, think of our fabulous Issue Sponsor, Karp Styles [11]. Owner Jackie is up in the WAY north of Canada, with a crochet inventory to drool over. Let's send some happy thoughts to her snow blower, shall we?
Cheers,
