I just finished making this! What a rush. It was my very first crochet project. I taught myself to crochet 3 days ago from youtube videos, and I didn't think I could do this, but it was nice and simple! You can see the finished product here. Don't mind my grumpy cat xD

On the squares though, I had to go to 28 on either side of the increase (not 23) to make it match up with the semicircles. Maybe I did it wrong, but it still looks normal =D My boyfriend isn't expecting anything from me this Valentine's Day, but he'll be thrilled with this. He's the sentimental type, loves homemade things :)

hi!

Im just new at crochet and am having problems with the pattern.

I started with the sides because they seemed easiest but it looks wrong. Compared to everyone elses it seems WAY too small. The side length is just over 30cm. Is this right.

I really don't want to have to rip it all out but if its wrong i will.

If it is too small what could have caused this?

Im using a 5.00mm hook .

Just love the heart. I saw it when I was looking for the crazy stitch pattern for doing a baby blanket.
I love it cause I do not have to think. I didn't even have to print out the directions....just followed along on my lap top.
I just did one in red now I am trying a different color and a larger crochet hook.
I loved the baby holding the pillow because it showed what it really looked like. You are the best. Thanks for sharing.

Has there been a formatting change?
It's nigh impossible to print this pattern without the rightmost edge cut off. Has the index frame on the left been widened? This is really inconvenient.

Lovely Pillow--Wish I Seen It Earlier

I love your heart-shaped pillow. I wish I had seen it a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for an easy pattern to use for our Valentine's Day raffle. I belong to a crochet club on my job and we do chariable work for differnt organizations in Philadelphia. We usually do "theme" projects, and your pillow surely would have been a hit. I say "would have been" because it is only 2 days before we have to submit our projects which will be raffled on Thursday and Friday of this week. Since I work full time and go to school part time, I would need a little more time to crochet.

Needless to say, I have multiple projects going on at the same time and taking on another, even one as easy as yours, would only put me under the gun. I recently completed 20 heart-shaped refridgerator magnets.

I would like to use it for our Mother's Day raffle--embellish it with a lacy border and maybe make a pair.

Thank you, everyone! I'm glad that you like the pillow. Yolanda, it should be easy to add a border - you could try just dc-ing around the edge in a contrasting color, or even just sewing in some lace when you're sewing the front to the sides. I hope it works out well for you!

I love the pattern, as I have recently been looking for something "different" with valentines coming up. But I sometimes don't like working with classic red heart as I find it very stiff and hard on the fingers. But I have enough "other" yarn in my stash to try it with, I bet it would be a good scrap project too. especially with fashions these days going toward the old 60's 70's trend, My daughter has a "chill" room and I feel like I'm back at my friends rooms from high school.
However I had no problem printing the project as I highlighted it and saved it to a word processing program and it lined up just nice and you can put the pictures wherever they are more convenient for you or enlarge the font for those of us like myself who are finding the little print more and more difficult. But again Great pattern. I can see it as a bowl too without the top if stiffened.
I bet you could make a real nice sachet with it out of thread too.

This is a great pattern, I just printed it out and can't wait to try -- also is good gift idea for beyond Valentines day -- also am thinking to do in very small gauge with lavender inside for sachets! Thanks for sharing! Melissa

I have to admit I'm one of the lurkers here. But when my gf was away in OK for the weekend and I was still here in CA with our daughter I got very lonesome for her. So I made this heart pattern then stitched a simple letter A on it in chennile yarn. I stuffed it with chennile scarves that were simply too hidious to wear, (christmas present)I beleive in recycling whatever I can. She was so suprised when she got home. I also made her a sprite using your pattern. It lives in her office now and everyone at her work wants one!

I love this pillow! I just finished mine tonight, except I used simply soft yarn which works well except I had to do 25 stitches before and after the increase for the square. Great pattern!

Thank you for this pillow pattern. Last night I received news that my dad has had 3 heart attacks. He's in ICU now while they determine if he needs surgery. I'm going to make him this pillow as a reminder to take care of his heart for his three daughters, his 2 grandchildren, his wife and his mother. In making this pillow, I am also reminding him of my love and devotion even though I'm not able to be with him all of the time. My dad always signs notes and cards with a heart with an arrow through it. Sometimes I'd come into work and find a wee post-it note with a heart with an arrow through it and I'd know that he'd been there. This pillow will also symbolize that - his signature - his way of saying "you are my heart" without words. I often find it difficult to say all the things I want to say and make things instead. I think this is the perfect thing to make for my dad. Thank you so much.

THis heart shaped pillow is so awesome. I just couldnt resist from making it. Have actually started working on it. I have got a daughter who is 2 now, and she just love the heart shape... She doesnt have a baby cushion in that shape which am making... all because of you i could do this.... Thanks so much... the kid up holding the heart looks very cute.. I wanna see my daughter doing the same.
