What a great pattern! I just made it in bernat softee chunky in about 30 minutes! So quick and easy. I used a K hook for the sc row to tighten it up a little though.
Thanks for sharing!

Nice pattern... fairly easy to follow... my hat fits more closely... isn't so baggy... perhaps my yarn wasn't as bulky as it should have been. At least it fits! I wound up using Manos del Uruguay Multi-stellar. Next time I'll use a bulkier yarn.

I love this pattern! With worsted weight yarn and size H hook, it becomes a small child's hat. Where can I find the yarn used in your pattern, or a suitable substitute from my local yarn store? Thank you!

I have to share my experience with this pattern. I didn't think to check my gauge. Usually I'm not too far off. I almost always use a G/4.25mm hook, but this time I was using my daughter's F/3.75mm hook (she likes tighter stitches) because I was only going to do the first few rows for her, just to get her started. When I realized the crown was only about 5 inches wide and I was already working on the tighter part, I decided something was not quite right. I started investigating and noticed the comment about a K size hook being used to make it tighter on the row of single crochets. Goodness gracious, what size hook was used for the rest!?! I've never used any of the larger hooks. I'm sure there's no difference in ease of use, but I had never known what they would be used for, so I never bought one. I guess now I know what I could use one for. :)
I love the design of the hat and it's very easy to make, but I'm going to have to add a lot more rows if I want to continue with my little crochet hooks. :) I think I would like to make one with a large hook just because it sounds like it would be really fluffy and pretty, but I'm curious about how one would look with my hook, but with extra rows.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share my funny experience with this pattern. Thank you for sharing it. I love to crochet, and I love little projects like this.
