Recently, I have discovered the world of tawashi. A tawashi is a handmade dish scrubbie. They can be made from any yarn, but I have chosen to use acrylic yarn because it dries faster than cotton. Great stash-busting project, and you can whip up a bowl of these low-fat, high fiber cuties in minutes. Betcha can't make just one.

Small amounts of worsted weight yarn. Size G Hook

Approx 3" X 3.5"

Gauge is not critical

Working only in back loops = (IBL)

Row 1: Ch 5. 2 sc in second ch from hook, and next 2 ch. Continuing around the other side of chain, sc 2 in each ch (4 sc in each end chain). Sl st in first sc. 16 sc

Working only in back loops (IBL):

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. IBL, sc in each sc around. Sl st in first sc. 16 sc

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. IBL, 2 sc in each sc around. Sl st in first sc. 32 sc

Row 4: Ch 1, turn. IBL, sc in each sc around. Sl st in first sc. 32 sc

Row 5: Ch 1, turn. IBL, 2 sc in each sc around. Sl st in first sc. 64 sc

Row 6: Working last row through both loops, sl in each sc around.

For hanging loop, chain desired length, sl st to next sl st.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Now you're ready ta-washi the dishes!
