Introduction

I love flowers so I came up with this for myself I hope I wrote out the pattern so everyone can understand it it was in my head and not on paper

Materials List

Any medium weight yarn in 4 different colors
size g crochet hook

Finished Size

Adult

Gauge

not to sure

Notes

use as many colors as you want. I just used 4

The Pattern

With contrast color chain 3 . Sl st in 1rst st to make ring. 7 puff sts into ring.
sl st to connect and work in round do this after each round.
rnd 2:with mc, 2 puff sts in every st around
Rnd 3:with 2nd contrasting yarn 2 puff sts in 1rst st, 1 puff st in the next st. repat from begining all the way around
rnd 4:with third contrasting yarn 2 puff sts in the 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next 2 sts repeat around
rnd 5 :with mc 2 puff sts in the 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next 3 sts
rnd 6-11: 1 puff st in each st around

Ear flaps:
in center st on back of hat with mc ssl st to connect
1 puff st in each of the next 12 sts.turn
row2:skip 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next10 sts. turn
row3 skip 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next 8 sts. turn
row 4 skip the 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next 6 sts.turn
row 5 skip the 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next 4 sts, turn
row 6 skip 1rst st 1 puff st in each of the next 2 sts. turn
rows 7-15 1 puff st in each st
Repeat for 2nd ear flap on opposite side of center st on back of hat
Border
starting at back of hat again do 1 sc in each st all the way around hat
repeat with each contrasting color. remember to connect with a sl st at the end of each round.
Flower:Ch 3 sl st in 1rst st to form ring 8 dc in ring sl st to connect
ch 4 sl st into the 2nd st ch 4, repeat around. With sl st connect 2nd color yarn into any ch 4 space Round 1 sl st,sc,2dc,sc,slst into every ch 4 space around .
Sl st to connect.
cH 5 , sl st into 2nd st repeat around
sl st to connect
with 3rd color sl st into any ch 4 sp
4 dc,2trc,4dc,into each ch 5 sp sl st to connect
Ch 6 sl st into 2nd st . repeat around
sc,hdc,2dc2trc,2dc,hdc,sc,into next ch 6 spacerepeat around
sl st to connect break yarn stitch flower to hat

hello, brandy. i agree with the above comment- this is a great hat and i also really love the hat in your photo- would also love to see the pattern. i ALSO really LOVE that you have four kids and are making such creative patterns. i just had my 3rd about 3 mos ago and i have so much admiration for you. go mama!

WOW, thanks everyone. As for the pattern for the green hat, I am writing a book which will feature that hat and the pattern, so I am very sorry but I cannot post any of the patterns that I am putting in the book. I should be done with it sometime this fall. I will let you know for sure.

I just made this hat, and really love it! My tension must have been off though or something because it took me a lot more rounds than listed in the pattern. I also didn't take that into account when making the flaps, so my ear flaps are rather short, but it's still a cute hat!
