'Site Location" Navigation Links

Categorized As:

1) OS: Windows XP 2002 SP2, Browser: IE 6.0.2900

2) Crochetme Location: Pattern Item pages.

3) Item: Navigation links at top

When going to a pattern page, e.g. Patterns, then Home Decor, then I click on, say, Crochet Containers, I get to the page and then above its title, I see what I consider the 'path' links. I am currently seeing:

Home» Crochet Containers

And the Home link would take me back to the CrochetMe home page. This is not a bug per se but would it be possible to change it to something like:
Home» Patterns» Home Decor» Crochet Containers
(or instead of Home Decor you can replace with whatever the item's primary / default category is?)

Emma - I agree with this.

On a related note, I'm wondering if we can have URLs *match* breadcrumb style in the forums. Example:

Breadcrumb:
home > forums > bug reports > site location navigation links

URL:
crochetme.com/forum/bug-reports/site-location-navigation-links

I don't know if pathauto allows for such a thing?

No. Remember how I said that the breadcrumbs don't work? This is an example of the breadcrumbs not working. It's unfortunate, but they aren't predictable enough to be useful IMO... You could try googling/drupal searching to see if there is an alternate module, but the last time I looked there was not.

I think ditching the breadcrumbs would be throwing out the baby with the bathwater. They work in most cases, but, it would seem, not so much with taxonomy. I say we keep them for now, and then see if we can't hack it or replace it to work with taxonomy.
