What is search searching?
Hey there--I'm wondering what the parameters of the search box are. For instance, when I type in "sock" I don't get any sock patterns, or when I type in "sweet" the sweet sweater doesn't come up... Similarly, if I do a vanity search for "houck" only one article appears and the text in the search results looks a little funny: (It's having a hard time with the apostrophe in my name, I think)
"Bowled Over
byline: by Amy O’Neill Houck contributor_id: Amy O’Neill Houck Baskets, bowls, boxes all appeal to me for their potential ... "

I'll add search result aesthetics to my list. Thanks, Amy. Emma, do you know how we can prevent that apostrophe from being a problem?
Emma Jane, it occurred to me today that we might not even have cron set up for this subdomain. Could bad search be related to not running any cron jobs?
Bad search would definitely be a cron problem. Apostrophes shouldn't matter, although content imported from the old site /does/ have problems with smart quotes and apostrophes. I think I'd already put this on your list, Kim?
On the same note: searching for an apostrophe gives an error on the search results page. Unclear on why this is. I will fix it.

Nod.
Since Amy's problem is with the import from the old site, I'll consider this a "fix as it comes up" thing, and will address apostrophe/other special character issues as I notice them. As for other search stuff, I leave that to you, spanky. :)
Now that cron is running (we think?), shall I move this to resolved?
Searching for: "amy o'neill" now works. Marking as resolved, search results below:
