Create pattern = old site?

The "post a pattern" link takes you to a page with this help text: "Things to make. An import from the old site." -- http://beta.crochetme.com/cme/node/add/pattern

Is this different from the form we want to use moving forward? For example, we don't need a byline anymore, because the poster's username should show up automatically and link to their profile. Also, I'd like to be able to insert help text by each text area, so people know what should be entered there, and if a standard would be helpful. Finally, for new patterns, how will we handle thumbnails? And, in general, images? Presumably each pattern might involve several images, but only one should be used to make the thumbnail for it.

Ok. I nixed the "author" group. And I was about to nix the "byline" field, but then I remembered that we do need this one for the old content, don't we? If I remove it now, will it still show up on the old content? Same goes for contributor_id, thumb_url.

Also, how can I make the taxonomy change its place in the display order? (Actually, I'd like to leave the free tagging capability, and remove the taxonomy options entirely, in favour of admins/moderators keeping track of the rigid categorization).

You said you wanted to keep the byline so that people can use a "fake" name for their username and their "real" name in the byline. The contributor_id and thumb_url need to stay, but are "hidden" if you don't have correct permissions (using CCK field permissions for this). It's set up but I still need to make sure it's working as intended for regular users.

And you've already moved free tagging over to the side...

Is this issue "resolved"?
