the linky thing in forum posts

Categorized As:

OK, I am totally flumoxed as to what all the choices I am given when I want to link something in a post are. I would suggest either explaining them or making them happen one way only.

Link something in a post? You mean, put in a link to another web page?

Uh, yeah. On other MBs, forums, blogger, you can highlight a word/phrase and link it to what it refers to on the web. At the top of the post boxes, the icon is there next to the insert picture and emoticon ones...there's a break link choice too. It's not active today or I would go into detail on what the choices were...this little pulldown menu was at the bottom of the "fill-in-the-blank" box...know one was "breadcrumb" though...does this help? It's confusing to me reading it, so I'm sure it is to you...

What browser and version are you using, Dawn? If it's Safari v.2 that might be your problem right there...? The buttons should work the way you think they should work.

This was the question I wanted to PM Dawn with a screenshot for, showing the rich text editor buttons, including link/unlink. Dawn's using Firefox on a PC.

I continue to remove options from TinyMCE. I think we're down to the bare minimum now of what people will want to use. Kim: if there's a better icon than the chain link we can swap it in, but I think the visual should be ok now. Marked as resolved.
