Beta Testers: Please Read First!

Categorized As:

Ok, dedicated beta (and alpha) testers. Please report your bugs here. Emma Jane and Kim will be all over this forum like moths to cashmere, but please be patient. What may look like an easy fix might actually take a lot of elbow grease to accomplish.

Please let us know the following:

If the bug is cosmetic (related to how a page or section looks):

  • Which operating system you use (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • Which browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.)
  • Which version of each (you can find the version in the "about" menu item of the program.)

If the bug is functional (e.g., you get an error message, can't do something you think you should be able to do, the site behaves bizarrely, your browser crashes, etc.), please let us know:

  • What you were doing at the time (e.g., "I hit "submit" on
this page [include full link]" or "I tried to add Spanky to my
    buddy list."
  • What the error message says (copy/paste)
  • What you think *should have* happened when you did what you did.

Thank you so, so much for helping us out! Your feedback is truly invaluable!

ETA: Note that, in general, Kim will attend to bugs related to display and aethetics and Emma Jane will attend to bugs related to functionality. So if you write two bug reports and only one gets a response, please be patient -- the other one of us just hasn't checked the forum yet.

PS Don't forget to tell us about the things you like as well. ;)
PPS Spanky == Admin Emma (as opposed to regular Emma). It's a very long story that involved ... well ... it was late, and there were hookers. It was very funny at the time and now it seems to have stuck. :)

Comment deleted - I'm a dork and posted in the wrong place :)

No worries! It was actually great -- it prompted me to post a bug report/feature request to be able to moderate forums (e.g., move off-topic posts)! :)

Oh, ha! I'm in touch with our webhost about fixing the problems that seemed to start when they solved other problems early this morning. :)
