Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our Reader Survey! Over 250 responses came in -- more than twice our goal! The lucky prize winner was Aaliya, from Washington, DC. Let us know how you like the book (generously donated by Sheila of Threaded Bliss Yarns), Aaliya!

Oh, and we have a new pattern.

Welcome to our new URL. If you didn't notice, we're flying solo these days. Please update your bookmarks!

The Crochet me Reader Survey is here! This site is growing at an unbelievable rate, and it's time we asked you some questions so we know more about what you want. Plus, one lucky respondent will win a very, very cool prize (courtesy of Threaded Bliss Yarns).

Ah, yes, speaking of growing. We now have a forum! Wheeee! Now you can chit-chat with other lovers of funky crochet, share, learn, brainstorm, and do pretty much everything but grab a bite to eat. Check it out!

A fabulously fashionable fast-crocheting shawl, and a perfectly... pink scarf! And, don'tcha know, there was another surprise in our last newsletter. What? You didn't get it? Well, find a friend who has it! That's the only way you can get your hands on it. Oh, and sign up for our mailing list so you won't miss the next one (see the little, yellowish box in the lower left)!

And yet more patterns. How can that be? You've fallen into my funky crochet spell, that's how. It must be. There's simply no alternative explanation. Also, so you don't have to continue making your own, here's a button to put wherever you'd like (one for light backgrounds, and one for dark). Please save it and put it on your own server. Enjoy!

Ok. So I'm learning how to crochet, and I searched around for some cool crochet patterns to try out. You know, since there are some amazing websites for knitters. But guess what. I found nothing. No storehouses of resources for hip crocheters. No cool advice and fun articles. It would seem that crochet has not clung to the coattails of knit on its way to the top of fibre fad. Oh no. It's been left in the moth-bally attic with dog-eared books about doilies and tea cozies.

Rather than mope and resign myself to crochet things I wouldn't wear or use or pass on to my favourite fashionistas, I've decided to be an activist of sorts. I figure that I can't possibly be the only one out there who wants to take advantage of this elusive internet resource. So I've decided just to make one.

Now, as I mentioned, I'm just learning how to crochet (like I started last week). So this is not going to be a site filled with my own funky patterns, since I don't have any yet. Which is why we (as in all the novice and/or bored crocheters the world over) are desperate for your help.

If things take off like I hope they will, since so many people out there are wandering aimlessly through life without amazing projects to crochet, I'll move this site over to its own URL. For now, I'm doing it the free way; forgive me for being prudent, but wow me with your enthusiasm.
