I've been working on doing some lighter items. As we've moved from my beloved San Francisco to Shreveport.

Now that we are settled some, I've had the time to take photos of my latest starts.

Here's what it looks like on.

I was thinking of adding some small roses to this shawl. I've added the photo with the cable remote for a sizer below so you'll have an idea. I was thinking I might add them along the sideways stitch line. But I don't know if that will look too heavy or not.

Very pretty shawl. I am sorry to hear you had to move away from San Fran. I love that city too. What is Shreveport like? Anyway, back to the roses. Maybe the ones you made - which are very nice- would be a little heavy, but I like the idea. You could make some tiny ones.

Thank you! I was thinking they might be heavy too. I had been thinking that a little color on it might be needed. As to Shreveport, it's Hot. I'll adjust it's simply going to take time.

It is so hard to tell from a picture, but why don't you sew or safety pin a few on and see how it works?

You could work some pearl-type beads in the roses as you crochet them. Like my fellow-crocheter mentioned, pin them on first, and then decide for yourself, how you feel it looks.

It is a beautiful garment and I am sure will be even more enhanced, with the pearl-worked roses attached.

What ever you decide, don't forget to show us all your photo of your finished garment.

You are right! The larger roses do look too big & will be too heavy for the delicate laced crochet! Replace them with the smaller roses, maybe add some pearl beads to the crochet roses as you work them and perhaps attached the ribbons to the roses when you sew them in place.
