I made this shawl/wrap for my SIL. I matched the beads to the color of the gown she was supposed to wear to BIL homecoming ball(2nd tour in Iraq). Unfortunately the cleaners ruined the dress about a month before the ball but i have no doubt she will find an excuse to wear it. I entered it at our local fair the end of July and got a red ribbon!

lol, Sister in law and brother in law! ;) No worries, I have to ask about slang and acronyms ALL the time. Then I usually do the palm of the hand to the forehead DOH! thing cuz it should have been so obvious?!

Very nice wrap. Would also like to see pics of your tats. I'm old, (45) but would like to get one. After almost a year in hospitals, I think I've finally gotten over my fear of needles. Totally off the subject, but I'm a nurse and actually hate to give injections -- I wince every time I stick someone, even when they tell me it didn't hurt!

Janine, how funny! My husband is deathly afraid of needles but he has nearly 70 or 80 hours of tattoo work. It must be that he knows the tattoo needles dont inject the ink and they are so tiny you dont see them as needles.

These are my two largest pieces. The dragon was 9 hours over 3 sessions and the left arm was 11 hours in 3 sessions.  As far as pain goes, the only excruciatingly painful part was the bottom of the dragon's feet and tail on my sternum.

They are beautiful! I especially like the dragon. I can understand that it would be very painful working over bone. I know a woman who had her son's names made into a band around her ankle, and I thought that would be so cool to do -- but she said it was very painful because of all the bone.
