OK, so this is kind of a wacko question, but here goes. The other day I was reminded of the old saying, "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." It occurred to me that someone with a good sense of humor might enjoy a crocheted silk purse (pink, of course) in the shape of a sow's ear. I've never designed anything myself--heck, it's all I can do to just follow pattern instructions--so making up my own design is probably out of the question.
Has anybody ever made a silk purse in the shape of a sow's ear?

I think this is a cute idea and maybe I will try it out sometime. It could be as simple as a couple of triangular pieces sewed together. Some irregularity would probably just add to the authentic sow's ear shape. Go out on a limb- give it a try! I bet you can do it!!!
mad for crochet!
Thanks for the encouragement. I think to make it really look like a sow's ear, it would need to droop down a little bit at the top--but maybe that would just happen naturally with a drapey yarn like silk, no?
I'll give it a go and post something if it looks even vaguely like a sow's ear.
