Hi, I'm a stay at home mom with two kids, a 2yo girl and a 4yo boy plus one on the way. I've dabbled in many of the fiber arts - spinning, weaving, knitting and crochet for many years. I'm itching to get to work on some of my stash of fibers and yarns, but find it very tough with the little ones demanding so much attention. I wonder if anyone else here has any tips for getting things done with little kids under foot.
I kind of figured crochet was the way to go because of the ease and quickness to produce something nice. I'd really like to make a sweater for each of the kids but since I'm so slow I'm afraid they'd out grow whatever I was making during the process LOL!
I'm glad I foung this site, I'm hoping for a little ispiration, encouragement and maybe a kick in the pants to get going.
6). Last, but not least---Day care 1 or 2 days/wk!
Good luck...Remember, they DO grow and will be in school soon, so your time will be back sooner than you think! :)
I'm busy with a new baby too, to be honest there is no easy answer. I crochet while my LO naps and usually have to put it away when I'm needed. Soon enough she will be able to go off for longer periods with Daddy and I can have an afternoon with my hook/needles. I'm finding my baby hats are commented on often when we go into town, they are quick to make up and I can make each unique as I experiment with my stitches, yarn and designs.
