Aside from the array of awesome fiber goodness, one of the best parts of your favorite LYS is...you guessed it...the clearance bin. There can be some pretty good finds in those bins of win.
Problem: Sometimes there's only one skein of the color you adore, and there's not a lot in said skein.
The solution I found? Keep checking the bin. For instance, one time I found a skein of some gorgeous red chunky alpaca silk in my LYS's clearance bin. No clue what to do with it. Lo and behold, I come back to said LYS later and there's a skein of black chunky cashmerino in the bin that worked PERFECTLY with my other clearance bin yarn.
So, much like with eBay and work, when browsing the clearance bin, use persistance and patience. Impulse buys won't be as much of a problem anymore.
