wooden hooks and hook sizes
I was checking out topics and found one on bamboo hooks, but- my question is have any of you bought the wooden hooks off of eBay?
If you haven't found them yet you should definitely take a gander, there are some really beautiful ones. They are usually very smooth with hooks shaped in both the "boye" and "susan bates" style, and could most definitely be heirlooms.
I have issues with the way metal hooks sound. That sounds ridiculous even to me- but I really just can't take the way it feels/sounds. I also have problems with the way cotton balls feel (hehe).
I definitely have a favorite hook, and size. Mine is a walnut size J. I like it so much that I will attempt a pattern that calls for a size H (or smaller) with the J. Things come out quite interesting in this fashion, I admit, but I do so love my walnut hook.
I recently tried to make this hat, using the yarn bee "italia"- I probably should have used a smaller size, but uhm.. well- my "beanie" hat became a very interesting beret, somehow- though I still haven't figured out how exactly.
Anybody else? =]

I admire wooden hooks, think some are beautiful, talk about getting one, but so far I'm all talk. You have reinspired me. One of these days...

I just love the bamboo crochet hooks also have a pair of bamboo knitting needles.
So comfortable and light.
I bought one from ebay and sent to http://www.k1yarns.com for other sizes.
I was lucky with ebay for that but you can also be unlucky so be careful.
