weaving in ends with fun yarn

I have some great eyelash yarn with which I am working, but I don't know how to weave it in so it doesn't work itself out again. I'm using a large hook with it so I can see the stitches. A friend suggested tying the new yarn onto the old yarn with a square knot and then clipping the ends close to the knot to make it seem continuous, but that doesn't seem very secure to me. any suggestions?

I agree, it doesn't seem secure. If you knot, leave the ends long and weave them. If you clip them close to the knot, they'll work their way out of the knot.

There is a knot called a Weaver's Knot, used by weavers?, that is supposed to be more secure. Square knots can collapse into something that pulls

I've been meaning to get some Fray Check (sp?) or other waterproof glue after reading that a tiny dot does a dandy job of securing ends after you weave them in, especially on items that will get a lot of wear or washing.
