Understanding Instructions
Hello!
I started crocheting a hat recently. I was doing great until I saw these instructions:
Ch 1, work even until 5" from beg
Does this mean that after every round I crochet, I chain one and continue? Or do I just crochet without chaining one?
I hope I'm making sense! ^_^
Without seeing the entire pattern, my guess is that at the end of each row, you chain 1, turn, then continue with the pattern in which you worked even.
Or you may be working in the round. Did the previous instruction tell you to sl st in the first st of the round? Follow katknit's suggestion without the turn.
The ch 1 gives you altitude for the following sc. It doesn't count as a stitch.
