About Me:
I'm a long time but sporadic knitter and crocheter. Retired, I now have more time for yarn, hooray! Inspired by all the lovely new designs I decided to concentrate on crochet for now, smallish projects to cut the boredom factor. It seems I can't crochet for long without having to get up and do something, LOL, so it takes forever to finish the simplest projects.
I'm a grandmother, live by myself, dote on a darling chihuahua, and play ukulele with a seniors group.

I do.
I love thread crochet! I have crocheted many doilies, bookmarks, and various items from thread. I learned with thread and a size 7 steel hook, and they still feel good in my hands...the cool of the steel and the warmth of the thread!
I just started learning thread crochet. I started with thread filet crochet, and I did those crocheted hoops from the pattern on this site, and I've started doing thread necklaces and bracelets and adding beads to the work. Now working with yarn feels cumbersome and clunky. :)
It does, doesn't it! Have you tried fingering/sock weight or lace weight yarns? Fuzzy lace can be beautiful as well as warm.
A resounding "yes"!
I love thread crochet too, particularly for making jewelry. I inherited a bunch of steel hooks from a cousin who died over 15 years ago.
She made doilies with them, which I also inherited. Her designs were so intricate and beautiful. I could never hope to make anything so beautiful.
I only began using thread last year.

I love thread crochet. For a long time it's all I'd do. I got over that but my favorite thing to thread crochet is fancy Barbie dresses.
