Is there a Filet Crochet how to book out??
My sister-in-law wants to learn filet crochet and I want to help her. Since I'm a lefty and she isn't, I thought I would buy her a how to book. The problme is, I don't know if there are any books dedicated to filet instruction. Amazon lists HUNDREDS of books so I'm hoping someone will know and pass on the info. She is one of my favourite people so I will check the hundreds of books listed on Amazon, but I had to try here first. Crocheters know stuff. So if anyone knows of a book/s that teaches filet crochet clearly and simply that would be wonderful. Thank you.

It's not so easy searching Amazon, is it? I'd find a likely book and discover it's out of stock. This Amazon entry, "Filet Crochet: More than 70 Designs with Easy-to-Follow Charts (Stitch Collection) (Spiral-bound)" looks good. I like the 5 star reviews and the spiral binding, so it will lay flat while you work from it. It's a smallish book, easy to take with you. I haven't read it, but it looks like a good starter book.
Betty Barnden's book Stitch Collection: Filet Crochet is fabulous. Very easy to understand instructions, great illustrations and there are several examples of patterns and borders you can mix and match.
Thanks very much for the helpful information. Sorry I haven't seen it sooner but I have been ill. They both sound good and I'll have to have a look. By the way, did you know that The Book Depository that sells in Amazon marketplace and so has to charge 2.75 shipping does not charge shipping when you order from their website directly? You have to check both sites because sometimes Amazon is cheaper and sometimes The book depository is cheaper, but quite often I end up ordering some from each to save money. Thanks again for your help.
