tapestry crochet
I'm working on a tapestry crochet project that's decently intricate- i have 5 different colored strands running behind my work. I've done tapestry crochet projects before, but with only 2 or 3 colors. Does anyone have any tips as to how to keep all the yarn from tangling from all the color switches? Thanks!

Maybe try it intarsia style?
Don't carry the yarn from motif to motif, but estimate how many feet of blue, how many feet of green, how many feet of yellow (for instance) are needed for each motif and cut off that many feet for each motif. Maybe carry the background color if it covers large areas.
Don't make bobbins of the yarn if it's only a few feet. Instead, just let it drop behind. When you need that color again, it should be fairly easy to pull it out from all the other colors and start working with it.
If you need yards of each color, this won't work, sorry. It won't work for crocheting in the round, either.
