Sweet top (nearly!)

Categorized As:

my sis sent me some wool for Xmas - and I started making the "Sweet!" top from Happy Hooker but didn't want the frilly bits so this is what I've ended up with! I just did 2 rows of single crochet round the neck and armholes. I much prefer crocheting to knitting (quicker!) but want funky wearable stuff - so any more ideas greatly appreciated - I'm still new to this!

Lovely.

Gorgeous colour. What yarn did you use?

the wool was Rowan wool cotton (50% merino 50% cotton) from Angel Yarns based in Brighton (bizarrely my sis who ordered it over the web from Canada thought it was lilac - odd!) Colour says SH964. Glad you like it.

Looks really good.
Matching arm warmers with that would definately funk it up a notch. (But not everyone likes to wear arm warmers... I'm just one of those people addicted to them...)
There's a great pattern for cool ones in "Fly tops and funky flavas" by Afya Ibomu. They come all the way up your arms. You can actually make them as long as you want.
I'll post a pic of mine when I can find where my toddler put my camera... It's probably under the couch. I just hope she didn't flush it, which is quite possible...
