What do you use to stiffen metallic thread without losing the luster? I've tried spray and liquid starch as well as a watered down glue. Is there a special product any one has heard of ?
Interesting question. I hadn't realized there would be a problem.
Maybe...use a sugar solution? That is not-so-commonly used to stiffen thread work. It might dry more clear.
Or use a clear wood finish of some sort, like varnish, shellac, or whatever water-based finish has replaced them. I'd try it on a swatch first, for sure.
I've been crocheting for three years, and I love that there is always another more challenging project out there. I have precious free time since I am the mother of three kids 5 and younger, but I must create and have at least one thing I can finish and never have to look at or do again!
