soft yarn question

I recently tried the brand "I Love This Yarn" and liked the softness (I think red heart is a little rough, but they have a great selection of colors), and the price. But I can't find this brand of yarn in brown, it's always out at the only place (Hobby Lobby) that seems to sell it where I live(Omaha). Does anyone know where I can find it online or at another store? Or another brand of (cheap) soft yarn in brown? I know Red Heart has a soft yarn line, but it cost way more.

I'm just wanting to make a football blanket for my little brother, so I don't want to use a real expensive yarn.

Rather late news, but I just learned that Hobby Lobby is affiliated with Crafts, Etc! which has/is an on-line store and carries "I Love This Yarn", http://www.craftsetc.com/store/department.aspx?dep=20&cat=60&subcat=12&I... , but at the moment there is no brown yarn. :^(

i absolutely refuse to work with red heart yarns because of their texture, even though their color selection is amazing, especially in their variegated.

are you looking for soft as in fuzzy, or soft as in a silky finish? TLC's amore is a nice lightweight, small strand boucle. i also like lion brand's homespun, which is a good one for density and can be done with a strand of red heart without the red heart's rough texture interfering with the homespun's soft fuzzyness.

for a silky finish, my all-time favorite is caron simply soft. it's the best i've found for the price... anything softer tends to be 3 times the price for 1/3 the yarn in the skein.

 

 

 

red meat isn't bad for you... fuzzy blue-green meat is bad for you.

TLC is reasonable and soft and the appear to have brown.

Why is brown yarn so hard to find anyway? I've always wondered about that.

Herrschners has a yarn sale every Monday online. I get an email and click on the link to see if they have anything I'm interested in that week. Love the convenience and the sale prices.
