Bought lovely yarn to crochets this for my self and am stuck just cant get pattern to work out.

It must be me and so want to crochet a winter sweater for myself.

Would anyone have a pattern they would be happy to share with me.

Done the rib part then get stuck with pattern so decided just to do body in single crochet.

But my rib has not stayed straight.

What have I done wrong ?

I am still a beginner.

Please can anyone help me .

When you work in ribs, and front post crochets, you have to be careful to put your stitch in the right place. It will feel like you are putting the stitch in the hole behind where it should be, but if the rib stays straight, you got it. If it slants left, move one more back. If it slants right move one forward.

I can post a demo on my blog if it helps. Its also possible that I misunderstood your problem. Let me know if I reading your problem worng, and we will just keep working on it.

Hello needles and thankyou I am a beginner and loved this sweater pattern I saw in the last yrs magazine. The pattern says it is for the experianced .So that is no tme.

I then fell in love with this burnt orange yarn and so want to be able to achieve this.

Yes it would help if you post a demo thankyou.

You are not misunderstanding Needles.

Also one problem trying to do this rib when you get to end of row it is not straight but a curve at both ends.

Here is a wee bit of a tutorial. Well not really a tutorial, but I hope the pictures help. Sorry for the delay, but pictures are too painful on my home dialup.

When I first worked with patterning of Aran work, it was deeply confusing, and my approach was that I was going to do whatever it took to get the raised stitches look straight. My sweaters, if looked at with an eye to perfection are not perfect, but the raised parts are straight.

Though I show this with half-double crochets, the same thing works with any size post work.
