Question To Wear and Model Hats and Scarves Or Not in Pictures on Your Online Shop?

Categorized As:

I have been trying to get an Etsy shop going and I think that taking the pictures is the key to selling items. I would like advice on what you think about something that came up online. A lot of people were saying that they didn't like models wearing a hat because it would be unsanitary. I don't feel this way because when you go to the store and shop think about what people try on in the fitting rooms. Yikes! Bras, bathing suits especially!! I can't believe that it would be unacceptable for someone to wear a hat to take a picture for showing it in an online crochet shop? What do you think about this? Any advise? I have thought about posting that the hats that I send out would not be the ones that are pictured on me or my darling grandaughter? It is so much nicer to see a hat on someone like a cute little baby or girl than on a glass ball? Any other photo tips?

I don't think it's a huge deal... If you're going to make multiple anyway, maybe use your first to show ("keep it for yourself"), and the others to sell.

Or get one of those mannequin heads.

Thanks I do have a mannequin head but it is not too attractive unfortunately. Oh well I have been posting that if I have a hat on a model then I would be sending them a different hat. I have just been laying my hats down and taking pictures of them this way. It isn't exactly the time of year to be selling hats right now anyways. HOpefully things will pick up for me soon? Thanks for replying and making suggestions for my shop!
