Positively Crochet book

Categorized As:

Does anyone else have this book by Mary Jane Hall? I really like it. There are some amazing fashion patterns in it: scarves, hats, purses, jewelry, shrugs....I'm working on the Easy Shrug pattern using Caron's Simply Soft yarn in Country Blue. The directions are super easy. I hope to post a photo once it is complete.

Hi Hachiko,

What level of hooker is the book aimed at? Is there a good mix of newbie and more advanced projects or is it aimed the more experienced?

I had a look at it on Amazon and the pictures shown were all of big, scary projects!!!

Hi Candy!!

The book covers all levels of crochet. So someone like me...who is NOT very experienced...can learn something new or the basics. If you can find it in a book store or your library you should check it out. I think you'd be pleased to try some of the patterns. Happy hunting!!

Hi guys!

If you can't get out to the library or a book store (I'm almost totally housebound due to disability)try going to www.maggiescrochet.com Maggie Weldon sells an amazing selection of crochet stuff and TONS of crochet books! The one thing she does that I haven't come across before, is she puts wacks of information about each book, with lots of pictures of the patterns in the books. It is much easier to get a an idea of what the book is about. When I find a crochet book I want I check her site to see if it's there before I buy it.

She is also an excellent seller and I often buy from her even though I live in Wales and she is in the US. Her prices, return policies and personal help is amazing. You could probably email her about the book as well to find out how advanced it is if you are still worried that it is too hard for you at the moment.

Good Luck!

Hi Shazzade!!

Thanks for sharing the web site with us & all the great info!! I'm definately checking out maggies crochet. I've often thought it would be nice if someone would post about books like Maggie does. What books have you bought thru her web site & what did you think of them? We should start a book review here. I should maybe write the administrators...?

Thanks again!!
