This rug is an adapted doily pattern from 1917 (the plate doily). The yarn is some heavy wool rug yarn that my mom gave me and I dyed it with lichen and oak bark. The lichen dyed yarn smells divine- like sleepy kitty cats!
Otherwise known as Ms. Busy Fingers.
In my free time this winter I experimented a lot with dying yarn with natural stuff like oak bark and pine needles. The colors from nature are so alive! I've been crocheting for several years now - took to it with a vengeance! When I am not hookin, I take care of the rich people's gardens out here on this rock in the sea.
I like it. I like the way the dye varies from the center out giving it a true hand-crafted look.
What a great idea! It's beautiful.
