Hi everyone!

I just came across this website and it looks pretty good so far, so yep, im the newbie. I have also just started to teach myself how to crochet. Ive got a couple of good books, the one im working out of now is the Stich n Bitch crochet - The Happy Hooker (he he), its great, ive just finished my first project ever..although i kind of made my own version. Once i figure out how to put a pic of the finished product on, ill show you!

I didnt realise how hard it was to find funky, modern, interesting patterns, this site sure has some of those!

So, come and say and im definately open to tips and ideas, cos im sill trying to figure everything out!!

Happy hooking! :) ha ha, funny

Welcome!

Somewhere I read, maybe even in that book, that the ladies of the night often had daytime jobs - women's work has always been low pay - wielding crochet hooks! Thus they became known as hookers. Cute theory, but I don't believe it.

I learned from the Happy Hooker, too! The first time I tied to learn from a "Teach Yourself Crochet" kit, and I just didn't get it. The Happy Hooker worked for me, but I would definitely advise that you work through each section before you start too many projects - that's why I'm not so good at knitting - I just wanted to start making stuff, so I didn't take the time to eally lean the basics.
