Rib is knitted 2knit 2purl for 4 inches then I cast off in slip stich. And now double crochet in slip stitch to get the body of sweater done.

Thankyou Sarah have crochet for 12and half inches and now picked up stitches to knit rest to arm shape.
So it will be a band of knitting, a band of crochet, then knit? Looking forward to more photos.
I like your colors. Normally I prefer brights, but this season and this economy seem to call for more somber hues.

A bit more done ,have now cast off and away to crochet to neckline as you can also playing with button .
I like these. But isn't getting too thick?
